isolated by ligands in the saliva, usually metalloproteins. Metallothionein (MT) is a relatively small molecule that
binds heavy metals including silver, cadmium, copper and zinc, and is made by most cells in our body. Your saliva
has over 200 different proteins and fully one third of body proteins are metalloproteins I.E. carrying metallic ions.
Thus, reactive ions (missing one or more electrons) can be transported past the stomach and thru the circulatory
system without local reactions. Metal ion substitution permits even a zinc metalloprotein to take up the silver ion
and release the zinc ion. The free, ionized zinc, which would be toxic if permitted to accumulate, binds to a metal
regulatory element on the promoter region of the metallothionein gene and "turns on" the synthesis of more
metallothionein.

As an extension of the chemistry of metal thiolates, the study on the metal-ion binding ability of recombinant MT
was undertaken by this group about ten years ago. The genetic engineering approach has allowed us to express
several MT of different species (mouse, drosophila, crustacean, human,...) as well as their constitutive domains
separately with a high purity and yield. More recently, the metal binding abilities of these metalloproteins in the
presence of several metal ions (Zn, Cd, Cu, Ag, Hg, Pb,...) has been analyzed and the influence of several factors

One-third of all proteins are "metalloproteins", chemical combinations of protein atoms (carbon, nitrogen,
oxygen, hydrogen, sulfur) with ions of metals such as iron, calcium, copper, and zinc. The hemoglobin, for
example, that carries oxygen in the bloodstream, is an iron-containing metalloprotein. The metal ions in
metalloproteins are critical to the protein's function, structure, or stability. In fact, numerous essential biological
functions require metal ions, and most of these metal ion functions involve metalloproteins. Thus, metalloproteins
make life on Earth possible and the ability to understand and ultimately control the binding and activity of protein
metal sites is of great biological and medical importance.

Scientists from several areas, dealing with spectroscopy and electron-transfer mechanisms, often use
metalloproteins in which a metal at the active site has been substituted by another metal ion, like Co,Zn, Hg, Cd.

Metallothionein (MT) is a low-molecular-weight
protein ubiquitous in the animal kingdom (1). MT has an unusual amino acid composition in that it has no
aromatic amino acids and one-third of its residues are cysteines. These cysteine residues bind and store metal ions
(2). The MT multigene family is composed of at least four isoforms. MT-I and -II exist in all tissues, are
regulated in a coordinate fashion, and appear functionally equivalent (1-3). Other members of the MT gene
family, however, show different patterns of expression: MT-III is found mainly in brain (4) and MT-IV in
stratified squamous epithelium (5). MT-III and -IV are regulated very differently than MT-I and -II and their
significance is not yet understood. Evidence also suggests a role for MT in protection aginst oxidative stress. MT
can serve as a sacrificial scavenger for hydroxyl radicals in vitro (35) and protect against free radical-induced
DNA damage (36-38). MT can also assume the function of superoxide dismutase in yeast (39) and protect against

The chain wraps around the silver ions so that they are enclosed by two parallel loops leaving a cup like cleft
where the Ag cluster resides. Fig.2 shows the arrangement of the ligand binding residues from infront of(fig.2a)
and behind(fig.2b) the protein as well as looking at the open cleft(fig.2c). In Fig.3a the two parallel loops can be
seen at the left and right hand sides of the diagram with the open end of the cup facing. Fig.3b shows a spacefill
representation of the metallothionein in the same orientation. It can be seen from this that the open face of the cup

A second adaptive and protective response to toxic metal exposure is induction of metallothionein synthesis.
Metallothioneins are a fascinating group of low molecular weight, intracellular proteins that serve as a storage
depot for copper and zinc, and "scavenge" sulfhydryl-reactive metals that enter the cell. Metallothioneins across
species are rich in cysteine (~30%) and have higher affinities for Hg and Cd than for zinc.25 Therefore as Hg and
Cd bind to metallothionein, and are restricted from entering the mitochondria, zinc is released. The free, ionized
zinc, which would be toxic if permitted to accumulate, binds to a metal regulatory element on the promoter region
of the metallothionein gene and "turns on" the synthesis of metallothionein.25 Such induction of metallothionein
provides increased binding capacity for both toxic metals (protective) and zinc (functional).
Total uptake of
Ag (subcutaneously with (AgNO3)) into the liver was not stimulated, but its uptake into the MT fraction increased
significantly in the LEC rats.

Note that these four elements make up almost the entire composition of all living organisms. The only other
notable elements that are significant constituents of biological molecules are P, phosphorus, and S, sulphur. In
addition, living things use traces of sodium, magnesium, chlorine, potassium, calcium, and iron, and even less of
certain other metals (see Purves page 20). Organelles are small structures within cells that perform dedicated
functions. As the name implies, you can think of organelles as small organs. There are a dozen different types of
organelles commonly found in eukaryotic cells.
Nucleus
This is where the DNA is kept and RNA is transcribed. RNA is transported out of the nucleus through the nuclear
pores. Proteins needed inside the nucleus are transported in through the nuclear pores. The nucleolus is usually
visible as a dark spot in the nucleus (note the dark nucleolus in this electron microscope photo of a nucleus), and is
the site of ribosome formation.
Ribosomes
Ribosomes are the sites of protein synthesis , where RNA is translated into protein. Protein synthesis is extremely
important to cells, and so large numbers of ribosomes are found throughout cells (often numbering in the
hundreds or thousands). Ribosomes exist floating freely in the cytoplasm, and also bound to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). ER bound to ribosomes is called rough ER because the ribosomes appear as black dots on the ER
in electron microscope photos, giving the ER a rough texture. These organelles are quite small, made up of 50
proteins and several long RNAs intricately bound together. Ribosomes have no membrane. Ribosomes disassemble
into two subunits when not actively synthesizing protein.
Mitochondria
Mitochondria (singular: mitochondrion) are the sites of aerobic respiration, and generally are the major energy
production center in eukaryotes. Mitochondria have two membranes, an inner and an outer, clearly visible in this
electron microscope photo of a mitochondrion. Note the reticulations, or many infoldings, of the inner membrane,
This serves to increase the surface area of membrane on which membrane-bound reactions can take place. The
existence of this double membrane has led many biologists to theorize that mitochondria are the descendants of
some bacteria that was endocytosed by a larger cell billions of years ago, but not digested. This fascinating theory
of symbiosis, which might lend an explanation to the development of eukaryotic cells, has additional supporting
evidence. Mitochondria have their own DNA and their own ribosomes; and those ribosomes are more similar to
bacterial ribosomes than to eukaryotic ribosomes.
Chloroplasts
These organelles are the site of photosynthesis in plants and other photosynthesizing organisms. They also have a

Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) The ER is the transport network for molecules targeted for certain modifications
and specific final destinations, as opposed to molecules that are destined to float freely in the cytoplasm. There are
two types of ER, rough and smooth. Rough ER has ribosomes attached to it, and smooth ER does not. Golgi
apparatus This organelle modifies molecules and packages them into small membrane bound sacs called vesicles.
These sacs can be targetted at various locations in the cell and even to its exterior. Lysosome This organelle
digests waste materials and food within the cell, breaking down molecules into their base components with strong
digestive enzymes . Here we can see an advantage of the compartmentalization of the eukaryotic cell: the cell

Domains
If we examine the detailed structures of many transmembrane proteins, we see that they often have three different
domains, two hydrophilic and one hydrophobic . A hydrophilic domain (consisting of hydrophilic amino acids) at
the N-terminus is poking out in the extracellular medium, a hydrophobic domain in the middle of the amino acid
chain, often only 20-30 amino acids long, is threaded through the plasma membrane, and a hydrophilic domain at
the C-terminus protrudes into the cytoplasm. The transmembrane domain, because it is made of amino acids
having hydrophobic side chains, exists comfortably in the hydrophobic inner layers of the plasma membrane.
Because these transmembrane domains anchor many proteins in the lipid bilayer,these proteins are not freefloating and cannot be isolated and purified biochemically without first dissolving away the lipid bilayer with
detergents. (Indeed, much of the washing we do in our lives is necessitated by the need to solubilize proteins that
are embedded in lipid membranes using detergents!)

Summary:
Results of competing ligand equilibration experiments indicate that the majority of Ag(I) in the filtered phase of
river water and sewage treatment plant effluent is strongly complexed to ligands present in those systems.
Furthermore, appreciable fractions of these Ag(I) complexes adsorb to Teflon surfaces in unacidified samples.
These complexes do not, however, adsorb to glass surfaces. Oxidation of river water and effluent reduce the
fraction of Teflon-adsorbed Ag to undetectable levels. These observations indicate that Ag(I) in river waters and
effluents is present in the form of strong complexes that are hydrophobic in nature. Organic matter containing
thiol functionalities is likely to cause this behavior. Formation of hydrophobic complexes may enhance the
bioavailability of Ag(I).

Summary:
Short-term (< 1 h) silver uptake by the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii was measured in the laboratory in
defined inorganic media in the presence or absence of ligands (chloride and thiosulfate). In contradiction to the Free-Ion Model of metal uptake, silver accumulation by the alga proved to be sensitive to the choice of ligand
used to buffer the free silver concentration. For a low fixed free Ag+ concentration of 10 nM, silver uptake in the
presence of thiosulfate (0.11 µM) was 2X greater than in the presence of chloride (4 mM). When sulfate was
removed from the exposure medium, silver uptake in the presence of thiosulfate was even more markedly
enhanced (more than 4X greater than in the presence of chloride). Varying the sulfate concentration in the
exposure medium only affected silver uptake if thiosulfate was present. We conclude that silver-thiosulfate
complexes are transported across the plasma membrane via sulfate / thiosulfate transport systems, and that sulfate
acts as a competitive inhibitor of this uptake mechanism.

Analysis of Silver in Freshwater and Freshwater Sedimentation Introduction
Silver (Ag), in its ionic form, is one of the most toxic heavy metals, surpassed only by mercury. When presented
as silver nitrate in laboratory water, Ag is highly toxic to freshwater fish, with median lethal concentration (LC50)
values between 5 - 60 µg Ag/L.1 However, Ag complexed with inorganic cations such as thiosulfate and sulfide
have been shown to be less toxic by orders of magnitude for both fathead minnows (Pimephales promelas) and
rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss).2 It is clear that water chemistry plays a crucial role in the toxicity of Ag in
freshwater species.As a type-B metal cation, Ag+ tends to coordinate and complex soft bases such as sulfur, and
the high stability constants for organosulfurs complexed with silver are indicative of this fact. Elevated
concentrations of silver are usually associated with industrial processes such as mining and photographic
processing and Silver found in photographic effluents is predominantly discharged as a soluble, undissociated

The Herald of Provo Utah, February 2, 1992, ran an article on Pg. D1, in which a member of the administrative staff of Brigham Young University by the name of Daryl Tichy has been successfully experimenting with 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver in the treatment of AIDS, along with warts and parvo virus in a dog. "Tichy said he had the material [5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver] tested at two different labs; results showed the solution killed a variety of pathogens, including the HIV virus." Tichy then states, "I don't have a doubt in my mind." He says he has not been able to obtain funds to continue his research.
This should not be a surprise, considering what other researchers have been telling us. There is much more evidence to support Tichy's conclusion. Extensive evidence points to the fact that 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver destroys all types of virii including the AIDS virus and greatly enhances the immune system in general. Colloidal Silver supports the T-cells in their fight against foreign organisms in the blood. HIV and AIDS are a two sided medical condition. First is the HIV virus, which attacks the immune system. Second are the main outward effects, the conditions resulting from the weakened immune system. COLLOIDAL SILVER VERSUS BACTERIA AND VIRUSES
As single celled creatures called bacteria use a common type enzyme or 'chemical lung" for their oxygen metabolism, the presence of 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver cripples the enzyme, therefore causing the organism to suffocate. Any and all bacteria are therefore killed within the 6-minute time frame, without causing any adverse effect on the surrounding tissue cells. Positive silver, however, offers several advantages over previous forms. There are no ions besides silver to burden tide tissues. To carry the fight to fungal infection, one must firstly understand fungal growths. A fungus is a series of single cells that have small tubes of the material from which the cell is made, which stretches between the cell walls.
Whether more linear in its spread and expand mode or, alternatively, more like a fabric in its reproductive mode, a fungus will still exhibit that characteristic of any one celled bacterium, that particular type of chemical lung, which is almost completely and permanently disabled by the presence of 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver in the body, as the silver suffocates the organism.

HOW IT WORKS AGAINST VIRUSES
A single virus will invade a living cell within the body tissue. Then the insidious pathogen will take over the nucleus of the cell and alter it's production and reproduction mechanism to replicate the virus instead of the enzyme, hormone, or other chemical that the body would normally have produced for itself within that cell.
Later, the newly produced virus will be released from that cell and into the blood stream. However, another very interesting thing takes place. As the virus affects the cell for its own purposes, part of the response of that living cell is that it reverts back to a more primitive form of cell structure and chemistry. The oxygen metabolising enzyme, or chemical lung in the cell wall, reverts as well.
This more primitive form of enzyme is vulnerable to the effects of 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver. The catalyst effect of the 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver simply being in close proximity to the enzyme of this cell results in the enzyme becoming permanently disabled. It cannot function to bring oxygen into the cell, and the virus producing cell dies by suffocation.

COLLOlDAL SlLVER AND HIV
HlV is caused by a particular type of virus. This virus attacks and invades a single tissue cell and takes over the operation of the cell's reproductive mechanism. Part of the cells response to this viral attack is for the cell to revert back to a different primitive one celled type of enzyme or chemical lung, the kind that is crippled by the presence of 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver, The cell then suffocates and dies and, as it is no longer useful to the body, it is flushed out.

Optimum digestion
Place 5ml of 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver, or as determined by titration, into a beverage of your choice accompanying your meal. As the food is digested, the presence of 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver will keep the food from putrefying in the digestive tract, while killing all germs ingested with the food. There will be no flatulence with this method.
Parasitic infections
By ingesting the correct quantities of 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver, is to preclude parasitic diseases caused by the tiny worm like parasites that can burrow through particular organs. In all cases, these parasites reproduce by laying eggs.
These eggs have the same characteristics as do the oxygen metabolising enzyme of the single cells bacteria. These eggs are unable to hatch when in the presence of 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver. and are subsequently destroyed and eliminated by the immune system.
Diarrhoea diseases
A number of diseases such as cholera, canine parvovirus or other diseases where the pathogen resides in the large intestine are normally fatal, mostly due to the dehydration resulting from severe and prolonged diarrhoea and vomiting. Healing crisis
This is a condition wherein the 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver is killing the pathogens very quickly. It is strongly suggested by research scientists such as Dr. Gary Smith and others that silver ions are essential to the immune system.
In "Use of Colloids in Health and Disease", author Dr. Henry Crooks says 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver is highly anti-viral. In laboratory tests he found that "all fungus, virii, bacterium, streptococcus, staphylococcus, and other pathogenic organisms are killed in three or four minutes. In fact, there is no microbe known that is not killed by 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver in six minutes or less in a dilution as little as five parts per million." Dr. Crooks tells us there are no serious side effects whatsoever from high concentrations. Research scientist Dr. Gary Smith reports that he has noticed a correlation between low silver levels, sickness and immune deficiency. He found people who have low silver levels tend to be frequently sick and to have innumerable colds, flu's, fevers, and other illnesses. The research of Dr. Gary Smith would seem to support the belief that 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver is an entirely natural healing agent.
HIV and AIDS are a two sided medical condition. First is the HIV virus, which attacks the immune system. Second are the main outward effects, the conditions resulting from the weakened immune system. Research evidence shows that Colloidal Silver is a two edged sword. It attacks the HIV virus directly and effectively, and then forms virtually its own immune system to ward off the various health problems the immune system has not been able to handle.
Parasites are being recognised more and more as a cause of failing health. Hulda Clark, Ph.D., N.D., author of "The Cure for All Cancers" and "The Cure for HIV and AIDS", tells us that neither cancer nor HIV can exist without parasites and that if we eliminate the parasites, the disease will be gone. Health Consciousness, Vol. 15, No. 4 says: "Parasites are also killed [by 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver], as they have an egg-stage in their reproductive cycle, which is one celled and therefore killed in six minutes or less." In as much as there are many kinds of parasites, this may be inconclusive. However, tests have shown that mosquito larva are effectively killed by 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver. It should be remembered that to rid oneself of parasites by killing the eggs or larvae means that one must continue the treatment until all of the adults die, probably of old age. More research is needed. But if the AIDS or Cancer and other conditions can be effectively treated with 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver, then any effects on parasites is a free benefit.
In as much as AIDS is the result of a virtually destroyed immune system, it would be surprising to find that 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver did not have a dramatic effect on AIDS. AIDS is a viral disease, and antibiotics seldom have any effect on any virus, but the 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver ion is highly effective. The evidence strongly supports the theory that 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver is highly effective against all strains of virus, curing even the common cold in one dose. Where many drugs on the market suppress certain symptoms of a cold, 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver is said to kill off the virus that causes it to hang on. AIDS, like all other viral infections, is unaffected by antibiotics, which each kill off only a few strains of bacteria and none are effective against the virus, yeast's, or fungi. Yet, researchers are telling us that 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver is highly effective against all of these.
One serious condition typical of AIDS is rapid ageing. Ageing is generally considered as due to a slowing down of the body's ability to replace worn out cells fast enough. This slowing down begins by the time of adulthood and continues into old age. In "Report: Colloidal Silver, Health Consciousness, Vol. 15, No. 4, it is stated that "Silver aids the developing foetus in growth, health, and eases the delivery and recovery." If 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver aids the growth of a foetus so noticeably, will it reduce the ageing process? From the research of Dr. Becker, it would seem 5 ppm - 8 ppm ionic silver will produce the undifferentiated cells necessary to prevent this slowdown of cell replacement. It is probable that the weakened immune system is incapable of producing the undifferentiated cells necessary to rebuild worn out cells. Colloidal silver produced the needed cells to make this possible.
All of this is being discovered and rediscovered at the same time that disease bacterium are developing immunity to modern antibiotics. Furthermore, immunity to the antibiotics seems to be developing all over the world, even in isolated areas. The medical profession is alarmed. Can silver save us? Many authorities think so!

The 1994 issue of "Newsweek" featured a six page article, "Antibiotics, The End of Miracle Drugs?" as the cover story. "The rise
of drug-resistant germs is unparalleled in recorded history", according to the article. "Penicillin and tetracycline lost their power
over staph back in the 1950's and 60's. Another antibiotic, methicillin, provided a backup for a while, but methicillin-resistant staph
is now common in hospitals and nursing homes worldwide. Trying to cripple bacteria's defenses will not do much more than buy us
five to ten years. A better strategy might be to abandon antibiotics altogether in favor of different kinds of drugs." Not a very
pretty picture: bacteria have a tremendous ability to adapt to substances, they can and do mutate to overcome antibiotics. When
the antibiotics destroy the bacteria which are suseptible to them, they can clear the way for resistant bacteria to move in
uninhibited.

Still another problem that has plagued the medical profession from the beginning with modern antibiotics has been that beneficial
bacteria and organisms play various important, natural functions in the body. Antibiotics often play havoc with some of thee
friendly organisms, producing long lasting side effects that may be difficult to correct.

One reason that the antibiotics have been so popular in the medical field is due to the fact that they can be patented. Therefore,
the pharmaceutical companies find it financially worthwhile to keep the doctors educated in their medicines, while other products
go unnoticed. Silver, on the other hand, is not patentable and there are no huge profits in it, so it is not worth heavy promotion. The
high-priced products run over the low cost products, simply because profitable.

All of this is happening at the same time that disease bacteria are developing immunity to antibiotics all over the world. The
medical profession is alarmed.

Science Digest suggested an answer to all of these catastrophic problems back in March of 1978 in an article titled "Our Mightiest
Germ Fighter". This article by Jim Powell stated: "Thanks to eye-opening research, silver is emerging as a wonder of modern
medicine. An antibiotic kills perhaps a half-dozen different disease organisms, but silver kills some 650. Resistant strains fail to
develop. Moreover, silver is virtually non-toxic."

Silver has been known to be a bactericide for at least 1200 years. Even in ancient times, it was known to prevent disease and it
was said that disease could not be transmitted drinking from a silver cup. Silver coins were commonly dropped into a jar to prevent
the spoilage of milk and other drink, and silver containers were used to prolong the freshness of foods in general. Wealthy people
used to feed their babies with a silver spoon which was considered to be a cause of strong healthy growth producing good stock.
Even today, some commonly call all tableware "silverware" although today it is more commonly stainless steel. In the 1920's, 30's
and 40's, silver was ground very fine like flour, suspended in water and was used orally for many infections and disease conditions,
topically on burns, and for fungal infections. Until almost 1970 it was common for scientists to put a silver dime in a petri dish to
sterilize the dish. Silver was long used for plates for the surgical repair of bones. After the development of the patented antibiotics,
silver was forgotten in the United States and most other places, although the antibiotics are only effective against bacteria, not
viruses, yeast, or fungi. Now, with the greatly improved modern colloids, the tables are turning and silver may be the most
effective treatment of all.

What exactly is Colloidal Silver (CS)? Simply put, colloids are extremely minute-sized silver particles suspended in water, with a
positive electrical charge. The smaller the silver particles, the more effective it has proven to be. The best Colloidal Silver is
produced at the molecular level. A small DC current is passed through an electrolyte with silver electrodes. Minute, molecular
sized particles are drawn off the positive electrode, having a positive electrical charge. This electrical charge is of primary
importance to healing and antibacterial qualities. The charge slowly dissipates, and therefore the freshness of the colloid is
important.

In "Colloidal Silver", a booklet produced by the Association for Colloidal Research, it is reported that: "Medical Journal Reports and
documented studies spanning 100 years indicate no known side effects from oral or IV administration of properly manufactured
Colloidal Silver in animal or human testing. There has never been a reported reaction with Colloidal Silver to any prescription
medication."

The evidence appears to support the theory that Colloidal Silver is highly effective against all strains of pathogenic bacteria, while
any one antibiotic is only effective against a few certain bacterial strains. Furthermore, antibiotics have never been effective
against viruses, yeast or fungi. Yet, researchers are telling us that Colloidal Silver has produced phenomenal results in tissue
healing and reconstruction as well as reducing scar tissue in clinical tests. Severe cuts and wounds have healed in much less time.

Laboratory tests have shown CS to kill over 650 destructive bacteria, viruses and fungi within minutes of contact.

UCLA ran some tests on Colloidal Silver and their report states: "The silver solutions were antibacterial for Streptococcus
pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Neisseria gonorrhea, Gardnerella Vaginalis, Salmonella Typhi, and other enteric pathogens,
fungicidal for Candida albicans, Candida globata, and M. furfur and it killed every virus that was tested in the lab".

Other voices:

Dr. Hirschberg, John Hopkins: "...remarkable for their beneficial action in infective states".
Dr. Henry Cooks: "I know of no microbe that is not killed in laboratory tests within six minutes".
Dr. Gary Smith: "When silver was present the cancer cell was de-differentiated and the body was restored".

Certain bacteria are essential to healthy body function. Several researchers claim Colloidal Silver only attacks the unfriendly
pathogens and will not harm the friendly, but one must wonder how it can possibly differentiate. The explanation is that the friendly
bacteria are aerobic, while unfriendly bacteria are anaerobic. Silver does not attack bacteria directly, but rather decomposes
certain enzymes the anaerobic bacteria, viruses, yeast, and molds require. The silver acts as a catalyst and is not consumed in the
process. It is probable that this indirect action is also the reason bacteria cannot develop a resistance to silver, as they do to
antibiotics.

Medical Uses

In the 1970's Dr. Carl Moyer, Chairman of Washington University's Department of Surgery, received a grant to develop better
treatments for burn victims. Dr. Harry Margraf worked with Dr. Moyer and other surgeons, a chief biochemist on this project.
They tested 22 antiseptic compounds and rejected all of them. The problem was that infections in burns often failed to respond to
antibiotics. Most antiseptics actually destroy the delicate healing tissues in severe burns and were very painful. The greatest
problem was the bacterium Pseudomonas acruginose, which is particularly infectious to burns and fails to respond to all common
antibiotics.

In his research into medical history, Dr. Margraf found numerous references to silver as an antimicrobial agent. Dr. Margraf
therefore tried silver nitrate, the same solution used in newborn babies' eyes at birth. It worked! However, he found it disturbed
the balance of body salts, stained everything it touched and in high concentrations was corrosive and painful. After further study
he found that all of these problems were solved by Colloidal Silver. With Colloidal Silver as the base, he then developed a salve
that has been extremely effective in treating the infections and healing in serious burns. Colloidal Silver is now routinely used for
severe burn victims, resulting in a large reduction of scarring and a heavy reduction of deaths for extensive severe burns.

The article in Science Digest, March, 1978, relates: "A speeding car overturned and burst into flames. The 18-year-old driver
suffered burns all over his face, neck, arms, hands, back, stomach, and legs, burns covered more than 80 percent of his body. Until
recently, this would have been a death sentence. Doctors knew how to restore vital body fluids and salts, but had no way to fight
infection, the primary cause of death in burn cases. Fortunately, for this youth, a new silver compound killed deadly bacteria and
enabled him to deal. He was out of the hospital within four months."

Another line of research that has led to this change of thinking is described in the best seller: "The Body Electric", in which Robert
O. Becker, leading research scientist in the field of bone regeneration, states: "The germ killing action of silver has been known for
some time. The Soviets use silver ions to sterilize recycled water aboard their space stations. It kills even antibiotic-resistant
strains, and also works on fungus infections." He goes on to say: "It stimulates bone-forming cells, cures the most common
stubborn infections of all kinds of bacteria, and stimulates healing in the skin and other soft tissues."

Certainly that is a broad statement! But Dr. Becker further relates a fascinating story which would seem to substantiate his belief.
A man's broken right tibia and fibula refused to bond and the skin refused to heal over a large area of the leg for a year an a half.
The leg was infected with five kinds of bacteria, all of which refused to respond to antibiotics. As a last resort before amputation,
Dr. Becker treated the condition with silver charged with a very minute electrical current. This produced silver ions in the bone
area and at the surface area. "I debrided (cleaned) the wound, removing the dead tissue and all grossly infected or dead bone.
There wasn't much left afterward. It was an enormous excavation running almost from his knee to his ankle. In the operating
room, we soaked a big piece of silver nylon in saline solution and laid it over the wound. We packed the fabric in place with
saline-soaked gauze, wrapped the leg, and connected the battery unit."

"About two weeks later", Dr. Becker tells us, "all of our bacterial cultures were sterile -- all five kinds had been killed. The soft
healing tissue, called granulation tissue, was spreading out and covering the bone. In two weeks the whole base of the wound,
which had been over eight square inches of raw bone, was covered with this friendly pink carpet. The skin was beginning to grow
in, too, so we could forget about the grafts we thought we'd need to do. I decided to take an X-ray to see how much bone he'd
lost." He was expecting the bone to start withdrawing before the knitting process began. "I could hardly believe the picture. There
was clearly some bone growth! I removed the cast, felt the leg, and found that the pieces were all stuck together. John watched,
and when I was done, he lifted his leg into the air triumphantly."

After extensive experiments along these lines, Dr. Becker concluded: "Cells exposed to positive silver ions profoundly stimulate
healing in a way unlike any known natural process. Whatever its precise mode of action may be, the electrically generated silver
ion can produce enough cells for blastomas; it has restored my belief that full regeneration of limbs and other body parts can be
accomplished in humans."

Dr. Becker's experiments seem to show that Colloidal Silver not only kills the pathogens, but also produces dramatic healing of
tissue such as his statement of the skin growth on the leg quoted above. The silver ion causes some cells with no differentiation.
These cells can turn into any cell that is needed. Only these de-differentiated cells can be used to create the cells necessary to
replace destroyed cells such as in a wound or rebuild missing tissue. It seems to be for this reasoning that Colloidal Silver heals
injuries without scarring, or at last greatly reduces scarring, while greatly accelerating the reconstruction or general healing of
wounds. Scar tissue develops when de-differentiated cells are in short supply. Therefore it would seem, from the evidence at
hand, that CS could reduce or prevent internal scarring and promote internal healing after surgery.

Other medical uses:

In "Report: Colloidal Silver, Health Consciousness, Vol. 15, No. 4", it is stated "Silver aids the developing fetus in growth,
health, and eases the delivery and recovery."
German hospitals routinely use it in new-born infants' eyes to prevent 'infection caused' blindness.
Silver seems to be even more promising against AIDS, and there seems to be no doubt that silver supports the T-cells in
their fight against foreign organisms in the blood. It virtually forms a second immune system, actually protecting and
defending T-cells. It is strongly suggested by research scientists such as Dr. Gary Smith and others that silver ions ate
essential to the immune system.
Marvin Robey, has personally used a strong dose of Colloidal Silver (4 oz. of 500 parts per million) for a 'cold' in its early
stages. It provided relief in two hours and cured the cold completely in about 24 hours. Others say that it quickly cures their

Physiological information about CS

The body's ability to process the tiny atoms of Colloidal Silver makes silver build-up in the body impossible. The Environmental
Protection Agency's Poison Control Center reports a 'no toxicity' listing for CS. If particles are small enough you can even drink
arsenic! Examining a bottle of colloidal minerals from a local health store you may notice nickel, arsenic and lead among the trace
minerals on the ingredients list.

CS is the only form of silver that can be used safely as a supplement. It is absorbed into the tissues at a slow enough rate that is
not irritating to tissues, unlike silver nitrate which reacts violently with tissues because of its caustic action.

The body has a vital need for silver -- to maintain the Colloidal Silver and to produce new healthy cells and since our blood is also
a colloid, the harmonious way the colloids enter the body may wall make Colloidal Silver the safest medicine on earth.

recycled water aboard space shuttles. NASA has also selected a silver/water system for its space shuttle. Internationally, many
airlines use silver water filters to guarantee passenger safety against water-borne diseases such as dysentery. The Swiss
government has approved use of such silver water filters in homes and offices. In the U.S some city municipalities use silver in the
treatment of sewage. Silver works so well in purifying water that it is sometimes used to purify swimming pool water. It didn't
sting the eyes as chlorine does, and it does kill mosquito larva. An experiment conducted in Nebraska demonstrates its
effectiveness: fifty gallons of raw sewage were pumped into a pool without any disinfectant. A standard measure of contamination
is the count of E. coli, a bacteria organism found in the intestinal tract. The count soared to 7000 E. coli cells per milliliter of water.
When the water was exposed to silver electrodes, within three hours it was completely free of E. coli."

How you can use Colloidal Silver

Add to drinking water when on holiday of camping, sterilize anything from tooth brushes to surgical instruments, spray on garbage
to prevent decay odors, on dish cloths, cutting boards, add when canning, preserving or bottling, spray in shoes, between toes, add
to bath water, gargle, douche, colon irrigation nasal sprays, drop onto bandages and plasters to hasten healing time soak dentures,
spray refrigerator, freezer, food storage containers, stops mildew, mold, wood rot, fungi. Use to spray pets bedding, use in cleaning
and mopping solutions. Spray onto the top of open jam jars etc., spray food lids before closing. Spray air ducts, use in the final
washing rinse, in dishwashers. Spray around plant roots to stop tot, spray foliage, inside gloves and under fingernails, rinse fruit and
vegetables, use in shampoos and rinsing water, spry pets, carpets, wipe telephone mouthpieces, headphones, hearing aids, spray
mattresses and allow to dry to kill dust mites, clean combs and glasses with it. Excellent for diaper rash and to spray inside
diapers. Clean toilet seats with it, floors, underwear, pillowcases, etc., etc.

Swishing the solution briefly under the tongue before swallowing ensures faster absorption. In several days CS will have
accumulated in the tissues sufficiently for benefits to begin, it is eliminated via the kidneys, lymph and bowel within three weeks.

Small gentle doses are recommended as when pathogens are killed off too quickly the body's elimination channels can be
temporarily overloaded. This will cause 'die off' or 'detox' symptoms such as headache, dizziness, extreme fatigue, nausea and
aching muscles. Regular bowel movements must be maintained during this time.

ICS is painless on cuts and abrasions, in open wounds in the nostrils for sinus stuffy nose and even in babies eyes, because unlike
antiseptics it does not destroy tissue cells. Inside the body silver forms no toxic features. It cannot react or interfere with any other
medication being taken.

Dr. Hulda Clark feels that sufficient is ingested from cleaning the teeth with CS, with perhaps more ingested in certain conditions.
Other doctors suggest one or two teaspoons daily. There is no limit for external use. Clearly one would only take internally when
necessary and not without good cause.

In general, modern Colloidal Silver is of much better quality than it was in the 1930's and 40's due to modern knowledge of how to
produce it. Still better news is that you can produce the Colloidal Silver of the finest quality yourself for pennies a bottle. This way,
you know it is fresh and you have a better idea of the concentration and quality.

When current is applied to silver in solution the particles that break off will always be the same size: 1.26 angstroms (.000126
microns).

Robert O. Becker - The Discovery of Silver

Dr. Becker first used silver in 1971. His experiments at this time focused on proving that minute amounts of electrical current could dedifferentiate cells and stimulate limb regeneration in rats. For his experiments, Dr. Becker elected to use a platinum electrode as the negative pole ( cathode ) and a pure silver electrode as the positive pole ( anode ) with a 106 - 108 Megohms resistor wired into the circuit. He implanted the device in 35 rats, and achieved the most notable results using 1 nanoamp of current.

In 1972, Dr. Becker was ready to begin experimentation with electrical stimulation for bone growth in humans, particularly in cases where broken bones ( nonunions ) refused to heal. Again, Dr. Becker chose to use silver, primarily because he believed silver was less likely to chemically react with tissues and he believed that silver would transmit the electrical current most efficiently.

Testing conducted by Dr. Becker's team demonstrated that the positive pole of a silver electrode in a low current circuit would kill all forms bacteria within a 1/2 inch radius. Dr. Becker hypothesized that this effect was due to the delivery of silver ions directly into the adjacent tissues. Never-the-less, his primary concern was that the positive current at the treatment site might cause delays in healing. Up to this point, research indicated that growth stimulation occurred at the negative electrode.

Dr. Becker eventually concluded that while all five of metals they tested stopped growth of all bacteria, the current required for all types except silver required dangerously high levels of current. Dr. Becker hypothesized that the other metals killed bacteria by poisoning the bacteria and normal cells. Eventually, Dr. Becker confirmed that the silver deactivated or killed all bacteria with no side effects with small ( and safe ) levels of current.

Dr. Becker eventually began experimenting with silver-impregnated nylon as a form of wound dressing designed to kill bacteria; he continued to use "positive current" to kill bacteria and "negative current" to stimulate tissue/bone growth. Becker's team commonly used between 100 to 200 nanoamps of electrical current per centimeter of electrode in their research. Dr. Becker concluded that other researchers were using far too much current in related experimentation, and that electricity exceeding one volt posed the possibility of dangerous side effects in nearby tissues.

In 1977, Becker first noticed that the silver anode ( positive pole ) appeared to actually be stimulating bone growth as well as eliminating infections. By 1978 he had repeated this phenomenon a number of times, and decided to reevaluate the theory that only the negative current stimulated tissue growth.

In 1980 Dr. Becker, through extensive research and experimentation, concluded that the current was not the determining factor with this stimulated growth. Rather, it was the silver ions that were responsible for the accelerated healing at the anode. He found that cells within 5 millimeters of the silver were actually altered. In cultures, Dr. Becker demonstrated that silver ions effected cell changes to the extent that the cells grew extremely quickly, producing primitively formed cells including fully dedifferentiated cells and rounded fibroblasts. Furthermore, the process of using silver ions to stimulate healing resulted in a 50% reduction in the healing time.

While it is universally accepted by knowledgeable researchers that silver ions can, in fact, alter cell morphology, some dispute the claim that actual cell dedifferentiation occurs. However, these conflicting findings may be due solely to the actual amount of current used; increased levels of current may in fact interfere with the process. Dr. Becker is virtually alone in the belief that the amount of current used should be minute, approaching the same levels of the natural DC current present in the human body.

Before Becker's research group dissolved, Dr. Becker found that silver ions, electrically injected, could suspend the mitosis of ( cancerous ) malignant fibrosarcoma cells. Dr. Becker hypothesized that cancer cells, regardless of the initial cause, were cells caught in a partially differentiated and primitive state. However, this promising research was never fully explored.

Dr. Becker's conclusion was that low-current silver electrodes stimulate bone formation by dedifferentiating cells and possibly stimulating periosteal cells. Dr. Becker's greatest cautionary note is the observation that high levels of current will stimulate cancer cell growth; the key is low-current with pure silver electrodes.

Research Points of Interest

Becker's group demonstrated that by using silver electrodes and 0.1 micro amperes of current, bone growth stimulation still occurred, and nonunion fractures healed.
Dr. Becker noted that cancer cell growth was stimulated by 300% using the 10 microampere method.
Dr. Becker noted that the combined effect of the proper level of current and the delivery of silver ions could dedifferentiate cancer cells; both elements must be correctly applied for any results ( the activation of primitive-type genes in a cell nucleus ).
Dr. Becker realized that the silver electrode method could be used on a patient's cells, and that large quantities of primitive cells could be stored for use at later date.

In January of 1980, primarily due to political reasons, the inflow of research grant money stopped, and Dr. Becker was forced to close his laboratory, even though he was likely on the verge of incredible breakthroughs in full tissue and organ regeneration in humans.

COLLOIDAL SILVER EFFICACY and SAFETY ARGUMENTS

The following is a response to the incorrect arguments advanced in some of the anti-colloidal silver articles on the web. The arguments were that colloidal silver (CS) is both dangerous and ineffective as relates to killing illness-causing viruses and bacteria.

It is certainly an interesting area when one attempts to find truth in the "health and drug" industry in our country.

Interestingly, the articles typically do not properly attribute the silver form which caused the condition known as “Argyria” when silver was used extensively as a broad-spectrum antibiotic before it was dropped and replaced by antibiotics in the late 30's. Specifically, preparations of ground up metallic silver were often used. The coarseness of the metallic silver used then most definitely did and will still cause Argyria. Silver miners also frequently got Argyria after the introduction of high-speed pneumatic drills. The coarseness of the molecular size of metallic silver made it so that the silver molecules would lodge in the skin and other cells of the victims rather than being transported back out of the cells by way of the water transport system and ground metallic silver hence caused permanent gray-blue skin-color AKA Argyria. Not good! Silver salts and silver proteins are also bad news and should never be taken ingested for the same reason.

Some articles state that CS is dangerous and infer it is worthless in the treatment of disease. Many would disagree. It is correct to caution about the very poor quality and constituency of supplements advertised/claimed to be CS by disingenuous and/or poorly-managed manufacturers. This is not an issue when you make your own CS at home using the proper equipment, techniques and metering.

First of all, ground up metallic silver, silver salts and silver proteins are not Colloidal Silver. Specifically, colloidal silver consists of silver molecules of a small enough size to be suspended in water rather than lying at the bottom of the water as would larger molecules of metallic silver or dissolved in water as are the silver salts and proteins.

True ionic colloidal silver most definitely transports into and out of the bodies cells via the water transport system. The CS ion created electrolytically by the proper use of the above equipment is many thousands of times smaller in size than the smallest ground up metallic silver molecule so CS's absorption and elimination are a repeatable event based on its molecular size vs. the permeability of the cell walls.

As of 2003, approximately seven cases of Argyria have been attributed to the long-term ingestion of silver salts created using highly mineralized tap water to make it instead of the distilled water which is an absolute must in making CS safely. No cases have been reported that we could find where distilled water was used to create only true ionic silver like the unit above creates if it is properly used.

The drug industry in this country relies on patents to offset the tremendous cost of the development of drugs. There has been and continues to be a well documented effort by the drug industry to outlaw or put on a prescription basis safe, non-patentable vitamin or other supplements. This is not to say that the supplement industry does not ever make dangerous products. They do so all the time. We can neither rely on the drug industry, the "harmless" supplement industry nor FDA for accurate information about our health. One is left largely to research health truths on a personal basis.

As to efficacy of CS one can rely solely on science again and can enhance that reliance by the personal/anecdotal evidence provided by thousands of successful users of CS.

I have personally seen CS work on anaerobic virus or bacteria caused disease as expressed in a couple hundred individuals (humans and animals) now. Flus, colds, Lyme disease, Flesh-Eating Staph are but a few. One example is a victim of viral-caused Hepatitis C. It is a disease which is considered as incurable and was fairly advanced in its progression in this victim. The medical treatments for mitigating Hep C are extremely harsh and he instead started on a heavy CS regime. One of his viral load counts was over 280 at his initial diagnosis. It was 140 as of 6 months after and about 70 9 months after he started. His doctor said this was impossible but acknowledged that its efficacy was sustained by his test results. This person is far better off in both viral count and feeling. At 280 he was bedridden, dieing and in extreme pain. That and many other real world results are worth plenty to each sufferer.

The colloidal silver is said to kill anaerobic virus or bacteria by:

Damaging cell walls and membranes of pathogenic bacteria.

Binding with microbial cell DNA of viruses, bacteria, fungus; inhibiting replication of the disease-causing organism.

Inhibiting enzyme activity and binds with cellular proteins within microbes.

Interfering with microbial phosphate uptake so the microbes run out of energy.

Complexing with electron donor groups containing several elements vital to the life of microorganisms, thereby causing their death.

Increasing the body's infection-fighting white blood cell count and has been found to activate a special white blood cell that destroys staphylococcus infections.

Interfering with the chemical process by which they create and assimilate O2. The anaerobic virus or bacteria are suffocated. This is important because they cannot build a tolerance to CS as all bacteria can and do build tolerances to antibiotics.

CS kills over 600 or more known varieties of anaerobic viruses and bacteria. This is chemistry so it is measurable and replicable. The only known silver-resistant organisms we could find in our research of literature on the web were Citrobacter Freundii, Enterobacter Cloacae, Enterobacteriaceae (some strains), Klebsiella Pneumoniae, P. Stutzeri, Proteus Mirabilis and Vegetative B. Cereus Spores. Naturally, there may be others.

There follows one of the great contradictions of the statement that CS is ineffective for internally treating disease or infections. If one is seriously burned, he or she will be treated externally in every burn center in the land with a silver nitrate creme 100% of the time because it is the only broad spectrum antibiotic in the treatment arsenal that actually works on 600+ varieties of virus and bacteria. All other drug industry antibiotics combined only kill ~27 or so of the known varieties of bacteria some of the time and none of the virus. Yet, the claim is made that ionic CS does not work internally against the very same bacteria and virus. It has been proven to do so time after time in the lab and in the real world.

No one has ever died from using 100% effective ionic CS made with distilled water.

Tens of Thousands of people die every single year from reactions to and/or from the ineffective results of taking antibiotics. Why Don't You Use Super Pure Silver?
Our 99.9+ pure silver electrodes are just fine, if you consider contaminates in the silver are then less then 1 part per thousand,you thus would produce contaminates of only parts per billion!
I.E. If making 5PPM Cs you would also make less then 4PPB (parts per billion) of copper and less then 1 PPB of gold and less of a few other metals alloyed in silver. These are all so far below trace mineral levels, they mean nothing!
You may recall, 1PPM means 1 mg/Liter so 1PPB is 0.001mg/L. On a dose basis of a tablespoon you are talking less then 0.00003 mg of copper yet your recommended daily intake is a few mgs! If people would stop accepting marketing hype as meaningful fact and use simple logic they would see those suppliers are either purposely misleading you to make a sale, have no benefit worth bragging about or are just plain ignorant about what they speak of! (This statement offended someone, so read the following facts before you get upset!)
Did you know that 99.9995% pure silver, that many claim they use, can not even be produced or tested by 99% of refineries, which adds even more doubt to their honesty! There are generally 20PPM of dissolved gases in silver, which would make 99.9980% silver as the best possible, even if all other metals could be removed! I could not get a refinery to quote me a cost of 99.9995% pure silver but some say it would be over $1,000/ounce in small lots, due to the high cost of special processing needs and test equipment to certify it.
Won't Stomach Acid Ruin Cs?
The popular theory that orally taken silver ions reach the stomach and complex with your stomach acid to form useless silver chloride is just plain not true!
In order to move mineral ions about your body, for delivery to the area where needed, your body uses proteins to envelope the ions and render them inactive, until they are delivered to the cell or area needing them. Numerous essential biological functions require metal ions, and most of these metal ion functions involve metalloproteins. One-third of all proteins are "metalloproteins", chemical combinations of protein atoms (carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, sulfur) with ions of metals such as iron, calcium, copper, zinc, etc. Hemoglobin, for example, that carries oxygen in the bloodstream, is an iron-containing metalloprotein. If this were not the case, few minerals would remain useable by your body, including essentials like calcium, iron, etc. as they would join other free ions and in many cases make insoluable salts (no bio-availability).
Your saliva has over 200 different proteins and thus they can capture metallic ions before they get near the stomach acid! Also, silver ions are so small they can be absorbed sublingually, thru your skin, to directly enter the blood stream, with the help of proteins.
Do You Make a High Voltage AC Generator?
With over 40 years experience in custom HV equipment design and manufacture, I am smart enough not to waste my time on such a stupid approach to a process requiring 2 volts DC!
The Arc (HV AC) process converts nitrogen in air into some nitrous compounds - no one in the "industry" has been able or willing to say what but silver nitrate is a likely result! There is a decided risk in comsumption of nitrates and thus the EPA limits them in drinking water to 10PPM. Two of the larger manufacturers have abruptly discontinued sales of their machines! I believe they were in serious risk of suit for recommending their use and consumption, plus I have seen none CSA or UL listed, as AC equipment over 28 volts must be, making their product liability insurance void.
The pH changes drastically (thus a high conductivity reading), so the few that insist on selling the crud, adjust the pH before sale, like that will do anything useful! While any process will produce some free ions of silver (unless salted), atoms and crystals, any product has some benefit but it is unwise to add a health risk to the solution or to make a very weak medicine when it is so easy to do it right!
How Strong Can Cs be Made?
If you are in New Zealand, only 10 PPM! If you use out generator, only 5 PPM!
One of our NZ customers just reported:
" We have just had a letter from Medsafe which is the Health Department here informing us that the medicines act states that we are not allowed to make silver that is more than 10ppm or we could be fined up to 200,000 dollars and all of our advertising material must be approved by them. "
As you read above, one tablespoon of 5PPM ionic Cs has more ions then your body has cells, so there is no need to go overboard in PPM or doseage. It would seem Medsafe could fine or shutdown most producing the atomic or crystaline forms of Cs! Since PPM is a measure by weight, only an expensive test will give the real value. If mostly ionic a simple conductivity test is accurate! Of course, you must start with known water or you can easily make 100's of PPM of silver salts. This the reason for our built-in PPM meter. Did you know, we not only shut off at 5PPM but also will shut down quickly and thus do nothing, if high PPM water is used, as in salted? Even with 10PPM starting water, almost no silver is released before shutdown in a few minutes!
I wish our FDA were as thoughtful as Medsafe, it would remove the hackers that have more interest in your money then your health!
Don't You Need Blue Glass Bottles?
Not unless you have vary poor product (silver salts or embarassing floating stuff)!
Blue is my favorite color but you only need it if your Cs is made mostly of silver salts, most all being photosensitive, just as is used on photographic film!
HDPE (high density polyethelene) is the standard food grade plastic you buy milk and distilled water in, as it is one of the few plastics without a plasticizer that may leach out! We have Cs over two years old stored in the origional gallon jug we bought water in and it still measures the same! Glass, being a crystaline material will actually shorten the life, as it provides nucleation sites for crystal growth (plate out).
Marketing companies like GNC use tinted or colored plastic bottles (who wants to pay $19.95 for four ounces of something that looks like water?) and often adds coloring and flavors to make it "more of a medicine"!
How Much Cs is Retained in Your Body?
The preferred form - ionic - is said to be filtered out of the blood in 2 hours and up to 98% discharged, mostly thru the intestines, within 24 hours!
Ions are captured by protein and delivered intact to the site needing them. Being 400 times smaller then a red blood cell, they easily pass thru cell walls and can be carried away by the lymphatic system.
Poor product (silver salts or crystals) may be retained for years! PPM means parts by weight so it is a poor measure of what you have - one big lump or trillions of ions! Your body can not process larger particles and either discharges them without any gain or absorbs them and then stores them in your tissue, if they can not be removed by the lymphatic system. The fatal dose (retained) is 10 grams! At 5PPM you are taking 0.005 grams for every liter of Cs you drink! You dispose of 98% of that in a day so little is retained! The EPA says you can drink 7 tablespoons per day (3.5 ounces) of 5 PPM Cs for 70 years with no sign of risk, for the sensitive person!

Can Cs be Filtered?
Very difficult to do without messing it up - coffee filters in particular are very bad!
At 5PPM it takes very little added material to swamp out the Cs and any free silver ions will complex (combine with) any dissolved matter, usually forming insoluable silver salts. They then have no (or extremely limited) bio-availability, usually settling out as crystals. Most filter materials have clay binders and acid residue from bleaching. The research grade filter papers work but you need pressure (or a vacuum) to force the Cs water thru them. Any fabrics also have soap residues or dye fixing agents and starch. You are better off just decanting the Cs, if there is any settlement.

How about Colloidal Gold?
Very few medical benefits are derived from colloidal gold and in general, gold compounds (what most people would tend to make) cause bone marrow depression and kidney abnormalities!
Gold salts are often injected by Doctors for relief of joint pain problems and also topically for pain, sometimes being an additive in salves. There is also a use for a specific brain disease but there are no other listed health benefits! The risk/reward ratio is far to high to suggest unsupervised use!
How About Colloidal Copper or Zinc?
Both are essential minerals and thus required in the proper amounts and ratios, so unless you are careful you can seriously upset your biologic system.

We are often asked why our unit costs more then most and the simple answer is that we incorporated every feature needed to make it the best, not to meet an arbitrary price! DOSEAGE SUGGESTIONS
Humans have about 100 trillion body cells! Since ionic colloidal silver has over 100 trillion ions per tablespoon (if 5 PPM) that is enough for a maintenance dose. On the other hand, since your liver filters out silver within about 2 hours, to maintain a therapeutic dose in your blood stream, you should take some every hour or two. The safe EPA daily dose for 70 years of 5PPM is 14 teaspoons, so taking a teaspoon per hour is both safe and wise for any existing infection.
Taking larger doses, as many suggest and practice, is unwise medically. First, if it is such poor product that it takes much more to get rapid benefits, then you are overdosing on silver salts and crystals or larger particles your body may retain. Secondly, your bodies reaction to anything in excess is to adopt a rapid elimination response and thus less chance for benefit.
